Where We Travel
We're based at 911 College St here in Bowling Green
And most of our calls stay inside a ring that runs out to Oakland (12 miles), Auburn (17 miles), Brownsville (18 miles), and Franklin (19 miles). That's the practical edge of a same-day call for us - past that, the drive starts eating into the time we'd rather spend on the job itself.
The area we cover sits on four named pockets of housing
And the bulk of what we touch was built between 1966 and 1982, with the median around 1975. That matters more than people expect. A door and opener from that era were sized and hung for hardware nobody sells new anymore, and a lot of "quick fix" calls turn out to be a mismatch between an old track and a newer opener someone bolted on later.
We don't try to cover the whole region evenly
Jobs closer to College St get seen faster, and jobs out toward Franklin or Brownsville get scheduled in blocks so we're not driving back and forth on single calls. If you're near one of those four towns, say so when you call - it helps us plan the day instead of guessing.
What Comes Next
When you call (270) 203-4616, we ask what the door is doing, or not doing, before we talk about scheduling. A door that won't open and one that opens loud and crooked are different problems with different urgency, and we'd rather sort that on the phone than guess at the curb.
Most of the homes we go into were built in that 1966-1982 window, so we're usually looking at original torsion hardware, steel panels that have been repainted at least once, and openers that got swapped out a decade or two after the house was built. We bring what that stock needs - springs sized for older track widths, rollers that match steel instead of newer aluminum extrusions.
We'll tell you on site what's wrong, what it costs to fix, and whether fixing it is the right call. If the door's beyond a reasonable repair, we say that too, and we don't pad a small job to make it look bigger than it is. A straight answer up front is worth more than a surprise later.
Work We Turn Down
We don't do new home construction installs - our work is repair and replacement on doors that already exist, mostly in houses built from the mid-1960s through the early 1980s. If you're building new, you need a different kind of crew than ours.
We also won't chase a job that's cheaper to replace than repair. On a door that old, sometimes the track is bent beyond straightening or the panels have rusted through at the bottom, and putting new springs on a door like that is just delaying the real decision. We'll say so instead of running up a bill on a door that's done.
And we keep our radius honest. Past Franklin, at 19 miles, or further out than Brownsville, we're less likely to take a same-day call - not because the job doesn't matter, but because we'd rather be upfront about the drive than promise a window we can't keep. If you're outside that stretch, ask, and we'll tell you straight whether it works.
